This course provides the fundamental electrical knowledge needed to understand controls and the use of electrical circuit drawings.
Upon completing of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the mathematical relationships between power, voltage, current, and resistance (Ohm’s Law and Power Law)
- Understanding the importance of capacitance, inductance, power factor
- Comprehend the uses and functions of relays
- Examine how transformers work and why they are used in power services and control systems
- Determine how the motor starter functions
- Identify the advantages of variable speed drives for fans
- Become familiar with Boolean logic, and relay logic using electrical circuit drawings (ladder diagrams)
