Details

This course presents methods to estimate and calculate typical building electrical loads. Discusses preliminary distribution of power and ASHRAE and EPA energy-efficient design guidelines. Introduces single line diagrams, describes conductor, conduit, and equipment selection and sizing. Features the importance of fault current analysis and explains data communications and uninterruptible power supply systems. It also details project coordination and design procedures. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: List the load estimation objectives; Explain the different electrical power distribution systems, Load calculation, Energy-efficient designs, The team coordination that exists during electrical design implementation, The procedure to review and revise the design describe a power distribution system, Fully-rated and series-rated over current protection systems; Identify the symbols used in electrical drawings; Read single-line and wiring diagrams; Describe the various sources of electrical power, the parameters used in selecting the correct size of conductors, the parameters used for equipment sizing, faults, the provisions for special systems in electrical systems design. (I-P), 1.5 PDHs. This course is approved by AIA. It can be subscribed to independently, as a part of the Electrical System Design Course Package, or HVAC Systems eLibrary.
