Course modules include Buildings and Energy, Zero Energy Buildings, Building Envelopes, HVAC Systems, Lighting, and Plug Loads. Supplemental information on a variety of topics, from zero energy case studies to energy modeling, is provided.
By the end of this course, you will gain a better understanding of:
- Where/how energy is used in buildings
- How to define zero energy buildings
- How to apply the fundamentals of thermodynamics to building envelope design
- How to explain the science of how/why buildings use energy
- How to apply this knowledge to design comfortable energy-efficient buildings
This course is approved by AIA and GBCI. (Dual), 6.5 PDHs. It can be subscribed to independently, as a part of the Sustainability Course Package, or the Advanced Technologies eLibrary.
