This course describes the operating principles of positive displacement and aerodynamic compressors. On completion of this course, you will be able to: Describe the basic operation of a reciprocating compressor and show the process on a P-V diagram; Define two efficiencies for reciprocating compressors and calculate values, based on actual performance data; Describe the basic operation of screw, scroll, vane, and centrifugal compressors; Describe over- and under- compression in a screw compressor. (SI), 2.0 PDHs. This course is approved by AIA. It can be subscribed to independently, as a part of the AC and Refrigeration Principles Course Package, or Fundamentals eLibrary.
